katzenstreik. hagen, bassplayer and one of the founding members of katzenstreik left the band. therewhile 3/4 are planing to continue working on a 5th full length. but as the band anounced in their latest bulletin it is up to old- and new katzenstreik fans if this project can take place. the band needs money to cover costs and to realize studiocosts. tobi (giwp-once@gmx.de) can give you further infos if you are interested in taking part at album no. 5 and be one of their supporters!

there are four releases that we plan for the next three months: on 16th february peters. will come around with their debut-album on vinyl and compact disc. beside that offical album ther will be a very strictly limited 1sided 7" with a exklusive DIY-linoleum printed cover. also asinella records will present their 3rd release mika vember. a close friend to clara luzia doing also indie/folk but ... was heißt sperrig auf englisch? :)
third record that is planed one month earlier - january - is a split 7inch between syn*error from berlin and adorno from portugal. the album will be released worldwide, also in russia, australia, japan and hopefully usa we still are in contact with a great label and wait for response.

the spark has burnt out (official statement to the split of iskra)
a while ago, 2 members/contributors of this (namely bass-player and drummer), our formation decided to quit ..there might be various reasons..personal and band-related..u know..kind of the same things that always seem to be in the air when a band changes names or people, or simply calls it quits..this spark has burnt out...
each of 'us' will continue and is continuing to be musically active..some of us will be continuing together..for sure.. promise!
but we will no longer call this 'iskra'.
what follows is tomorrow, the rest of our lives, music.. and hopefully (for my part that is..) more of everything that happened during the past 2 years or so.. great and exciting people, concerts and places..7-inches and intoxicated, long nights..
thankfulness and inspiration for everything that happened and everything to come.
thank u, to everyone who shared, and made this 'iskra'..

On Sunday 30th Radio FSK Hamburg broadcasts a Captain Planet Radioshow. With 9 other artists they will play around 1 pm (13 uhr). if you live in hamburg check the frequencies 93.0 MHz or 101,4 MHz via cable. if not you should use webstream ( http://www.fsk-hh.org/livestream ).
captain planet will play a collection of brandnew material that appears on their forthcoming album "Wasser kommt Wasser geht" released on october 5th. our label as the band is very proud to support fsk as a very special radiostation and being part at Radioshow#8. Jan-Arne Von Twistern (Voc/Guit): "Unfortunately there are only a few radiostations left that are independent and particularly do not annoy me. this is the reason we like to support FSK by taking part. Personally i avoid so called hit-radios. Von Twistern taped radioshows of fsk with guitarist benni to discover new artists and bands. "Fsk broadcasts cool music and many interesting informations about the scene in hamburg. also they transmit panel discussions about political topics."

Knarf Rellöm was questioned from Frankfurter Rundschau about his cynical Track "Arme Kleine Deutsche" (engl.: Poor Little Germans) on our Book-CD "I Can´t Relax In Deutschland" and his personal relation to german nationalism. "I'm not refering to music, but to the relationship with Germany, especially to what happened after the World Cup 2006.People were going on about how we finally loosened up from being stiff and that something changed. In the lyrics I say:" So if you're asking me, I liked the stiffness better." I'm sypathising if people admit that they feel uncomfortable with their nationalism. But maybe that song is allready obsolete as the way we deal with nationalism keeps on changing and will continue to change, and less and less people will have a problem with it. Amazingly, in these days being-German functions as a lifestyle perfectly: Music, art as well as fashion and photography labeled as “German” qualify as marketing strategies and bring together pop culture and nationalism in a modern Germany. This does not only concern popular culture but reflects broad tendencies within the German society of finding a way to normality, when dealing with the own country and its history. Many artist openly promote revisionist and chauvinist views in their works. The purposes of doing so are manifold: from a lovely commitment to preserve German cultural traditions, or the locational factor - to stay competive - by demanding a quota regulation for a sufficent number of German productions on the radio, to a rediscovered pride of the nation. The campaign “I can´t relax in Deutschland” wants to contradict these tendencies and tries to deliver a profound criticism of the German nation, and the current patriotic mainstream, which by now has penetrated nearly every aspect of pop culture and thus corrupt its universal approach. first reissue will be captain planet "unterm pflaster der strand" set on september 4th while captain planet will hit the road a last time before entering studio to record their album. a limited edition of 80 copies will follow the debut-style containing 3sided gatefold cover. the rest will be printed in a standard hardcover.
